Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has joined Sky Bet Championship club Swansea City on loan for the remainder of the season according to reports on The Blues’ official website.

The 19-year-old Epsom-born midfielder is one of the most highly-rated players to come out of the Chelsea academy system in recent times and Gallagher is being tipped for a big future in the game.

It has now been reported that Gallagher will gain some first team playing experience at Sky Bet Championship club Swansea City with the player having joined The Swans on loan for the remainder of the 2019/2020 campaign. The South Wales outfit are challenging for an unlikely promotion back to the English Premier League despite well-documented budget cuts since their relegation from the top flight in 2018. The Swans are currently sitting in seventh position in the league table, one place outside of the play-off positions on goal difference alone.

Gallagher is yet to make his senior debut for Chelsea but a solid second half of the campaign with loan club Swansea City could increase his claims for first team involvement at Stamford Bridge next season. The teenager has been on Chelsea’s books for 11 years and graduated from the Under-18s side last summer.

The midfielder has already played in the Sky Bet Championship this season. Gallagher made 26 appearances for Charlton Athletic during a loan spell at The Valley, scoring six goals.
