Chelsea will travel to Sky Bet Championship club Hull City in the fourth round of this season’s Emirates FA Cup after the draw was made on Monday evening.
The Blues saw off the threat of another second tier club in the form on Nottingham Forest in the third round at Stamford Bridge on Saturday with Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ross Barkley on the scoresheet for Frank Lampard’s men.
The South West Londoners’ reward for that victory is a trip to The KCOM Stadium where they will take on Hull City. The Tigers fought valiantly as they came from behind to win 3-2 at Rotherham United in their third round tie at the weekend.
Chelsea and Hull City last met in the Emirates FA Cup in February 2018 when The Blues were 4-0 winners in a fifth round tie at Stamford Bridge. Willian netted a brace while Pedro and Olivier Giroud were also on target for Chelsea that day.
Hull City have a rotten record against Chelsea. They have lost all of their last seven meetings while they have not beaten The Blues in 15 attempts in all competitions, a run which dates back to 1988.
The latest meeting is scheduled to take place on the weekend of 25-26 January 2020.
