Chelsea face Nottingham Forest in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup at Stamford Bridge tomorrow afternoon 12 months on from their previous meeting in the competition.
On that occasion, The Blues advanced to the fourth round after beating The Tricky Trees 2-0 thanks to a double from Spaniard Alvaro Morata.
The Blues have won all of their last six meetings with Forest and they will be looking to continue that run when the pair meet in a domestic cup competition for the third time in less than two-and-a-half years.
Chelsea go into the match without the services of full-back Marcos Alonso who has a hamstring injury while Fikayo Tomori and Billy Gilmour are suffering from illness and are unlikely to play. The Blues are again without midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek with the player not yet fit to return.
Manager Frank Lampard is likely to rotate his squad for the match which could mean game time for the likes of Willy Caballero, Andreas Christensen, Emerson Palmieri, Mateo Kovacic, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Michy Batshuayi.
Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi has a number of injury concerns to contend with ahead of his side’s trip to South West London. Chema Rodriquez (Hip), Michael Hefele (Achilles) and Tendayi Darikwa (ACL) are all sidelined while the fitness of Yuri Ribeiro and Yohan Benalouane could be assessed prior to kick-off.
The match is scheduled to kick-off at 2.01pm on Sunday afternoon, the 60-second delay being part of The Football Association’s initiative to raise awareness of mental health.
