Chelsea Under-18s are into the fourth round of this season’s FA Youth Cup after defeating Huddersfield Town 4-0 at Kingsmeadow this evening.

Armando Broja netted a hat-trick for The Blues while Myles Peart-Harris was also on-target as Chelsea eased into the next round.

Ed Brand’s side were ahead inside 60 minutes at Kingsmeadow. Valentino Livramento played in Broja and the forward placed the ball into the visitors’ net.

Ian Maatsen was close to making in 2-0 but his effort was saved by Terriers keeper Giosue Bellagambi before Myles-Peart did net the second goal, tapping home from a Broja pass.

Chelsea had to wait until the second half to add to their lead. Maatsen played a pinpoint pass to Broja who showed real composure to fire in his second and Chelsea’s third goal of the match.

While The Blues were impressive throughout, the night belonged to Broja who took home the match ball. He completed his hat-trick by drilling the ball beyond Bellagambi 10 minutes from time.

The victory sees Chelsea erase memories of last season’s early exit in the FA Youth Cup. The Blues lost 4-3 at Manchester United in the third round, a result which ended their five-year hold on the trophy.

Brand’s side will return to action against Arsenal at Cobham on 4 January 2020.
