Chelsea will be hoping to return to winning ways in the English Premier League when they take on AFC Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
The Blues suffered a shock 3-1 defeat at Everton last weekend, although they did qualify for the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League in midweek with victory over Lille at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea will be without defender Fikayo Tomori for their fixture against The Cherries with the player battling a hip injury while midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek and forward Olivier Giroud continue to be sidelined.
Mateo Kovacic, Christian Pulisic and Tammy Abraham all picked up knocks in the midweek victory over French club Lille but are expected to be fit to feature against Eddie Howe’s AFC Bournemouth side.
The Cherries will travel to South West London without as many as eight first team players through injury. Nathan Ake, Charlie Daniels, Junior Stanislas, David Brooks and Callum Wilson are amongst the lengthy list of absentees.
Chelsea have a patchy recent record against AFC Bournemouth. The Blues have won two and lost two of their last four meetings. The Cherries were 4-0 winners when the pair last met at the Vitality Stadium in January.
The match is scheduled to kick-off at 3pm and has not been selected for live television coverage.
