Chelsea will be hoping to put any memories of Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat to West Ham United to bed when Aston Villa are the visitors to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening.
The Blues put in a tame performance as the out of form Hammers recorded their first victory at The Bridge since 2002.
Chelsea go into their latest fixture in the English Premier League against Aston Villa without the services of top scorer Tammy Abraham who continues to be troubled by a hip injury. Long term absentees Antonio Rudiger, Ross Barkley and Callum Hudson-Odoi are again likely to miss out, although the trio are not that far away from their respective first team returns.
Aston Villa arrive in South West London having collected four points from their last two league games. Dean Smith’s side are sitting quite comfortably upon their return to the English Premier League following their three-year exile.
Villa will be without French full-back Frederic Guilbert who is suspended while winger Anwar El Ghazi is out with a knee problem. Spanish midfielder Jota is set for a return after recovering from surgery on a hernia.
The match is scheduled to kick-off at 7.30pm and can be streamed online through Amazon Prime.
