Chelsea Under-18s are set for an FA Youth Cup third round tie with Huddersfield Town at Kingsmeadow next month.

The Blues’ five-year hold on the competition was ended last season as they were defeated 4-3 by Manchester United at the Leigh Sports Village in the third round.

The draw for this season’s third round ties has recently taken place and it has been revealed that Chelsea will host Huddersfield Town Under-18s. The two clubs have agreed that the tie will take place on Wednesday 18 December and will kick-off at 7pm. The Blues will stage the game at Kingsmeadow rather than at The Recreation Ground in Aldershot or at the club’s traditional home of Stamford Bridge. Admission for the match will be priced at £3 for adults and £1 for children.

Ed Brand’s side have been on fire in the Under-18 Premier League South this season. The Blues trail league leaders Fulham by a single point but have the luxury of a game in hand over The Cottagers. The South West Londoners have won eight and drawn one of their opening nine matches in the division.

Chelsea last won the FA Youth Cup in the 2017/2018 season. The Blues defeated London rivals Arsenal 7-1 on aggregate in the final.
