Chelsea will be hoping to continue their glittering recent form when they travel to Turf Moor to take on Burnley on Saturday evening.
The Blues have won six matches on the spin in all competitions with their most impressive victory coming in midweek as they defeated Ajax 1-0 at the Johan Cruijff Arena in the UEFA Champions League.
Burnley’s on-loan Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater is ineligible to face his parent club, although the player is out with an ankle injury anyway. Iceland international midfielder Johann Berg Gudmundsson continues to be sidelined with a hamstring injury which he picked up whilst on international duty while Chris Wood is out with the same complaint. Defender Jack Cork and forward Ashley Barnes could feature for The Clarets following their recent returns to fitness.
Chelsea will be without midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek who is continuing his recovery from an Achilles injury while defenders Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger are also unlikely to travel. Blues boss Frank Lampard is set to assess the fitness of both N’Golo Kante and Ross Barkley ahead of the match.
Saturday’s fixture is scheduled to kick-off at 5.30pm and will be screened live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League channels.
