Chelsea defender David Luiz has completed a Transfer Deadline Day move to English Premier League rivals Arsenal while five other Blues players have headed out on loan according to the club’s official website.

The Blues haven’t brought any players in themselves due to them being under a transfer ban therefore the attention has been on those leaving Stamford Bridge.

The big departure is Brazilian defender David Luiz. The player has joined Arsenal for a reported £8 million transfer fee. The 32-year-old has signed a two-year deal at the Emirates Stadium.

In other news, out of favour midfielder Danny Drinkwater has joined Burnley on loan until 6 January. The player has featured for Chelsea on just 23 occasions with Drinkwater having suffered a catalogue of injury problems as well as being out of favour at The Bridge.

Youngsters Trevoh Chalobah and Izzy Brown have moved to the Sky Bet Championship. The former has joined Huddersfield Town on a season-long loan while midfielder Brown has moved to Luton Town for the same period.

After spending last season in Sky Bet League Two with Cheltenham Town, midfielder Jacob Maddox will step up a level this season. The player has joined Tranmere Rovers on loan for the remainder of the campaign .

Finally, defender Josh Grant has completed a loan move to fourth tier side Plymouth Argyle. The 20-year-old moves to Home Park until January and will see him play in Sky Bet League Two for a second consecutive season after spending time with Yeovil Town last term.
