Highly-rated Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has agreed a new five-year deal with The Blues according to BBC Sport sources.
The 18-year-old Wandsworth-born wideman was expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer with the player thought to be wanted by German champions Bayern Munich.
After learning of the Bundesliga club’s interest, Hudson-Odoi expressed his wishes to leave Chelsea and he submitted a formal transfer request during the January transfer window.
It has now been reported that Hudson-Odoi has held constructive talks with new Blues boss Frank Lampard and the youngster is set to pen a new deal at Stamford Bridge before the start of the season after agreeing personal terms with the South West Londoners.
Hudson-Odoi came through the youth ranks at Stamford Bridge and the player starred for The Blues at Under-18 level. The winger made his senior debut for Chelsea in an Emirates FA Cup tie against Newcastle United in January 2018, coming off the bench as The Blues won 3-0.
The youngster made 24 appearances for Chelsea at first team level last season in which he scored five goals. Many of Hudson-Odoi’s outings came from the bench leaving the player in limbo over his long term future at The Bridge.
With Chelsea serving a two-window transfer ban, manager Lampard is ready to put his faith in the club’s young players, something which has convinced Hudson-Odoi to stay.
