Croatian international midfielder Mario Pasalic has again been sent out on loan by Chelsea with the player joining Atalanta on a season-long arrangement according to The Blues’ official website.

The 24-year-old Mainz-born midfielder spent last season with the Serie A outfit and will continue to represent The Goddess again in 2019/2020.

Despite being out of favour at Stamford Bridge, Pasalic has signed a new deal with parent club Chelsea which will see him remain on the English Premier League club’s books until summer 2022. The player is yet to make his first team debut for The Blues, five years after joining the club from Croatian side Hajduk Split in a reported £3 million deal.

Pasalic’s latest loan move is the sixth of his Chelsea career.  He spent the 2014/2015 campaign on loan at Spanish club Elche before joining AS Monaco for the following season. Next up was a move to AC Milan where Pasalic won the Supercoppa Italiana before a spell in Russia with Spartak Moscow. The midfielder was then loaned to Atalanta last season where he made 42 appearances in all competitions in which he netted eight goals.

Atalanta ended last season in third position in Serie A, their highest-ever finish. The club were also Coppa Italia runners-up.
