Chelsea have added two fixtures against League of Ireland opposition and a trip to Germany to their pre-season schedule.

The Blues were already scheduled to face Kawasaki Frontale and FC Barcelona during a pre-season tour of Japan before taking on Sky Bet Championship club Reading and Austrian outfit FC Red Bull Salzburg.

The South West Londoners have now announced that they will begin pre-season with a tour of Ireland. Chelsea will face Bohemians at Dalymount Park on Wednesday 10 July before a meeting with St Patricks Athletic at Richmond Park three days later.

The Blues are expected to make the long journey to Japan soon after the St Patricks Athletic fixture with the next game against Kawasaki Frontale coming just six days after they end their Irish tour. Games against FC Barcelona and Reading will quickly follow before Chelsea travel on to Austria for their fixture against FC Red Bull Salzburg.

Chelsea were expected to pencil in another fixture before their English Premier League opener against Manchester United on Sunday 11 August and it has been announced that they will travel to Germany to take on Borussia Monchengladbach. That game will be staged on Saturday 3 August.

A new manager could be announced at Stamford Bridge early next week ahead of the start of pre-season training with club legend Frank Lampard being tipped for the role.
