Chelsea full-back Jay Dasilva has joined Sky Bet Championship club Bristol City on a permanent deal according to reports by The Blues’ official website.
The 21-year-old Luton-born defender spent last season on loan at Ashton Gate and he went on to make 32 appearances in all competitions for The Robins.
It is understood that Dasilva’s loan deal included the option for Bristol City to sign the player on a permanent basis at the end of the agreement. It has now been reported that The Robins have opted to take up the offer of signing the defender on a permanent basis for an undisclosed fee and Dasilva has signed a four-year deal at Ashton Gate.
Dasilva joined Chelsea from Luton Town in 2012 and the player went on to star for the club’s academy sides. The defender won three FA Youth Cups with The Blues while he also lifted the UEFA Youth League trophy on two occasions.
In December 2016, Dasilva joined Charlton Athletic on a half-season loan and went on to make 10 appearances for the club. He joined The Addicks on a season-long loan spell the following season and ended the campaign as the club’s Fans’ Player of the Year.
Another temporary move away from Stamford Bridge came last season as Dasilva moved to Bristol City and the player impressed enough to earn himself a permanent deal.
