Chelsea FC Women will travel to Isreal to take on the Isreali national team during their pre-season schedule according to reports by The Blues’ official website.

The FA Women’s Continental League Cup is set to begin in early September while Chelsea’s league campaign is likely to commence just a couple of weeks later.

It has now been revealed that a pre-season friendly has been arranged between Chelsea and the Isreali national team. Emma Hayes’ side will travel to the Ha-Moshava Stadium in Petah Tikva on 20 August with the match being sponsored by Blues owner Roman Abramovich and the Isreali Football Association.

It is hoped that Chelsea’s visit to Isreal will help promote the women’s game both in that country and around the world. The Blues are keen to play their part in helping fight both antisemitism and inequality,

A kick-off time for the match is yet to be announced by either party, although it is understood that admission for the match will be free to all supporters who choose to attend.

Chelsea’s trip to Isreal could be their only overseas fixture during the next 12 months with Hayes’ side having failed to qualify for another adventure in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. They could only finish third in the FA Women’s Super League table, missing out on the two qualification spots.
