Chelsea FC Women midfielder Sophie Ingle has signed a new two-year deal with the South West Londoners according to reports from the club’s official website.

The 27-year-old Welsh international midfielder joined The Blues for a second time from Liverpool last summer and appeared regularly for Emma Hayes’ side.

It has now been reported that Ingle has agreed to remain at Kingsmeadow for the next two seasons with the player extending her contract with the club until summer 2021.

Ingle started her senior career with Cardiff City, the club which was closest to Penarth, the place of her birth. The player spent five years in the Welsh capital before joining Chelsea for the first time in 2012. The midfielder reached the final of the Women’s FA Cup with The Blues before moving on to join Bristol Academy. Ingle joined Liverpool after just one season in the South West where she spent three years before rejoining former club Chelsea last summer.

During her second spell in South West London, Ingle has been part of a Chelsea side which reached three cup semi-finals last season and she will now be setting her sights on silverware in her second and third seasons with The Blues with the club keen to return to the very top of the English game.
