The pre-season schedules for Chelsea Under-18s and the club’s Development Squad have been announced with both sides facing opposition from at home and abroad.

Andy Myers’ Under-18s finished last season without a trophy, as did Joe Edwards’ Development Squad and both will be looking for more from their players in 2019/2020.

It has been revealed that the Under-18s will face four pre-season fixtures ahead of the start of the new Under-18 Premier League campaign. Myers’ side will face away fixtures at Polish club Lechia Gdansk (12 July), AFC Bournemouth (20 July) and Everton (3 August) while they will also take on German giants Bayern Munich with details of that match yet to be finalised.

Edwards’ Development Squad will travel to Portugal for a pre-season training camp where they will take on Portimonense on 6 July. They will then host Swansea City at Cobham (13 July) before facing Poole Town (20 July), Newport County (24 July), Sutton United (27 July) and Rangers (2 August) on their travels. It is understood that the fixtures against Poole Town, Newport County and Sutton United will all be open for Chelsea fans to attend. The Rangers fixture will be played behind-closed-doors at their Hummel training base.

Both the Under-18s and Development Squad begin their domestic campaigns on the weekend of 10 August.
