Chelsea FC Women have bounced back from their UEFA Champions League disappointment with an 8-0 thumping of Yeovil Town at Huish Park this evening.

Beth England netted a hat-trick for Emma Hayes’ side while Erin Cuthbert and Fran Kirby notched braces on a hugely positive night for The Blues.

Chelsea took the lead after just five minutes when England got on the end of an Adelina Engman cross to score before Cuthbert soon drilled in a second.

England bagged her second and Chelsea’s third goal of the match with a diving header before Engman made it 4-0 with an impressive finish from an acute angle.

Emma Hayes’ side were to go into the break 5-0 up when England completed her hat-trick with another composed finish.

Six minutes into the second period, it was 6-0 when Cuthbert was put clear through on goal and the player placed the ball beyond home keeper Megan Walsh into the back of the net.

The Scot was replaced by fellow striker Kirby with 14 minutes remaining and the England international soon got her name on the scoresheet, notching two late goals as The Blues recorded a stunning 8-0 win.

Chelsea will complete their season with a trip to Adams Park to face Reading on Saturday lunchtime.
