Chelsea will be hoping to build on their late momentum from Sunday’s victory at Cardiff City when Brighton & Hove Albion are the visitors to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening.
Two goals in the last six minutes turned the match at the Cardiff City Stadium on its head with The Blues winning 2-1 to lift some of the pressure on under-fire boss Maurizio Sarri.
Brighton & Hove Albion are Chelsea’s next opponents with Chris Hughton’s side set to visit Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening.
Chelsea go into the match without the services of defender Marcos Alonso who has a hamstring problem. N’Golo Kante and Eden Hazard are likely to be recalled to the starting XI after only being named substitutes in Cardiff while Ruben Loftus-Cheek could be considered for a start after his heroics in South Wales.
Brighton & Hove Albion make the 59-mile trip from the South Coast to the capital without defender Pascal Gross who continues to be sidelined with injury. Striker Florin Andone is fit for selection. Albion boss Hughton could make changes to his side with an Emirates FA Cup semi-final with Manchester City at Wembley being just three days away.
The match is scheduled to kick-off at 7.45pm and has not been selected for live television coverage.
