Chelsea FC Women have again been drawn to face FA Women’s Super League title rivals Manchester City with the two clubs being paired in the semi-finals of the SSE Women’s FA Cup.
Nick Cushing’s City side have already knocked The Blues out of the FA Women’s Continental League Cup this season and they now have the opportunity to gain revenge on the South West Londoners for their SSE Women’s FA Cup semi-final defeat at Kingsmeadow last term.
The draw for this season’s semi-finals took place earlier today with Chelsea handed a trip to The Academy Stadium, a ground where they came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 in the FA Women’s Super League earlier this year.
Chelsea will travel to the North West on Sunday 14 April for their semi-final tie with the winners set to contest the final at Wembley on Saturday 4 May.
The Blues find themselves in the last four after battling beyond a stubborn Durham outfit at New Ferens Park on Sunday. Ji So-Yun scored the only goal of the game for Emma Hayes’ side as they avoided a potential banana skin.
The other semi-final tie sees Reading host West Ham United at Adams Park. Both clubs are aiming for a first-ever final appearance.
